lol, they're cute outside. But one year (unfortunately, after I'd left the house for college), my parents bought a very special Christmas tree. They put it in the stand, decorated it, and left it in a nice warm house while they went to work and my brother and sister went to school. Eight or so hours later, my brother came home from school to find little praying mantises all over the living room! In a panic, he ran and sprayed an entire can of Raid on the critters and the tree.


Turns out the tree came with a praying mantis egg sac which hatched in the lovely warm temperatures of the house. I so wish I'd been there to see my brother's reaction: he's always been more squeamish about bugs than me. affraid

Gorgeous, look at the colors in the tail wingy thing.

They are just looking to find a meal. Hopefully the pest type bugs.
