introduction

Post  fjayco2l on 2/17/2012, 4:59 pm

Hello my name is Feather We currently live in mid sc I have been using the sfg gardening method for quite a few years We grow lovely crops of food all year & into the winter by covering several of my raised bed platforms. It is very difficult for me to get down to the ground so my husband has raised my beds on platforms of milk crates given to us by a local grocer. I can work sitting on a chair, my mobility chair or standing as i feel able. We have a few questions we would like to ask about a couple of new things I would like to try.

Feather

Nice to have you join us.

I also use Table Tops for my SFGs.

Having done SFG for quite a few years, are you using the ALL NEW SQUARE FOOT GARDENING book that was published in 2006? There have been quite a few changes for the better since the original books were written in the 1980's.

We have several members in your region that use hoops and covers to extend their gardening season. Very glad it works for you too.

If you have questions, please feel free to post them. Hopefully we can help or have some suggestions for you.

If there are new things you are considering, perhaps they are new to other members too.

Hello & welcome to the site.

There are loads of us disabled ANSFG's , here fire away with your questions ..some of the guys are very good as solving disability related SFG problems.

If your still using Mel's original book and methods have a go at the 2006 version as the soil -less growth medium is a breeze to work with and needs very little effort to work & maintain.

Feather I also have a table top boosted up on milk crates (2 high). Works great. So glad you have found us. Do to circulation issues it makes it so much easier. I also have some pots and planters. Please post some pics.
