My Wife (Kitty) and I have decided to try SFG this year. We are starting with 6 4x4 plots and mixing our own MM. Hope to learn lots from this forum, thanks for the acceptance..sam

samiam, Wow! 6 boxes is a pretty big start.

Were you able to read the ALL NEW SQUARE FOOT GARDENING book published in 2006, yet? The information there is so easy to understand.

If you have not yet made your MM, here is a good thread on how to make the best MM ever. MELS MIX

Hello Sam & hello to your lady .

Welcome to the All new Square Foot Gardening ( ANSFG) site , where if you make the initial bed fill properly and follow Mel's advice to the letter ...( garnered from his years of hard won tried and tested experiments ) you'll have something to really be proud of and worth while to have .

Note Well.

It may well differ greatly from what you already have or know ....it certainly was for me when I discovered the ANSFG way even though I'd been SFG'ing for around ten years previously in old fashioned hard worked common garden soil & for 35 years in ordinary gardens and small holdings before that.
