Anyone grown spaghetti squash in a regular depth SFG?

Post  arla on 3/4/2012, 11:52 pm

Just wondering, I know the depth of soil can be an issue for some root vegetables, although I know some squash has really good sized root systems.

Yes it will work just fine. Here are some pictures of mine in a 1 block high (8") bed. There was hardware cloth and a paperwoven feedsack on the bottom and all roots were contained except I didn't keep up with the trombocino and it sort of took off on the ground.
This is April 3, 2011, spaghetti squash in front, trombocino in back.

Same bed June 11th, again with spaghetti squash in front
