I have some green!

My first year with ANSFG. I planted a few squares Sunday: spinach, lettuces, arugula and my first round of carrots. Four days later - MAGIC!

Arugula...


Lettuce...


Alas, no carrots yet...


But I knew the carrots will take awhile. No sign of the spinach or the other type of lettuce yet. I'll be patient. Now hopefully I can protect them well from the rains expected this weekend.

(I sure hope these are in fact sprouts from the seeds I planted and not wayward weed sprouts...)

Got green here too. Planted the first bunch of stuff three weeks ago, then another batch two weeks ago. So far I have beets, radishes, blue scotch kale, two different varieties of lettuce and carrots each; and the beets have come up as well. Oh and the spinach is growing like a herd of turtles.

Planted potatos on St. Patrick's and found sprouts this morning. Also had to pinch off the first strawberry blossoms. Sad Beets, chard, purple mustard, and bok choy all coming up.

although they are microscopic, I also have some garlic coming up... Kiler frost last night though..... Sad

I keep the straw handy in the next squares so I can cover the garlic when a cold nite expected, as in Mon and Tues dropping into the 20*Fs again.
