Strawberries in France

Post  Icemaiden on 3/25/2012, 11:26 am

No, not a gardening question!
Does anyone know when strawberry season kicks off in Normandy area? Or any other soft fruit?
I'm hoping to book a short holiday there and it would be lovely to be able to eat some summer fruit Very Happy
I'm hoping it would be a tad earlier than the UK but I'm not sure.

from an article in France Magazine about a Normandy farmer:

" When Bourdon puts the first little barquette of strawberries on his stand around the end of May, a whisper goes around the market: “Baptiste’s strawberries are in!”"
