Is that a German Shedder?

Beth[/quote]

He's a pound puppy, but the lady down the road is a German Shepherd breeder and she says he definitely has Shepherd in him. He is a great dog and if I ever get a breed, instead of a pound dog, it will be a shepherd!

Alf is my rabbit, I posted a picture of him when I first got him, my avatar is Alf after he got his hair cut. Alf is a daddy, he is the father of 4 black, one brown, and 3 white bunny babies.

He really is a small rabbit after the hair was cut off, but he has big feet and a big head, the babies are like that, big feet and heads, they are starting to get fluffy hair.

Alf's babies

They are 3 weeks old today.

Congratulations, Grandpa! But that photo is not possibly Alf. That has to be a poodle, at the very least! The babies are completely adorable!

Elysia, gorgeous, gorgeous photo of your flying dog!

I do love, love, love German Shredders. When we had our dog, DH said she practiced projectile shedding...

I picked a generic cat avatar when I signed up because cats are my favorite animal. I can't have a kitty of my own though. My husband is alergic to them. Sad

Maybe that makes my husband my favorite animal since I chose him over them.

There are hairless cat and curly tight coated REX cats that many normally cat alergic people find OK, but the bald cat is really ugly to my way of thinking .

The only hairless cats I've seen are sensitive to temperature. They always seem to act like they're cold. Poor kitties. I didn't know about the rex being good for allergy sufferers. I'll have to find some to introduce my husband to and see if his eyes swell shut. It would be nice to have a cat again. Before he developed his allergy we had lots of cats. He misses them as much as I do.

I had a terrible cat allergy from the age of 12, until I had a series of allergy shots over a few years. I currently have two fluffy furballs, and they bother me very little.

You may wish to encourage your DH to consult with an allergist; many of them are ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialists. Another possibility is an air purifier; I can suggest one that may help.

Them's fightin' words, Plantoid! Who could resist this adorable little Purr Machine!

GG

PS - Hubby and I are BOTH allergic to cats, but the hairless (we have Sphynx, but there are other hairless breeds) work fine for us because they have to be bathed so often. It is the dander and saliva that usually cause problems, but because of the required weekly (or bi-weekly Embarassed ) bathing required, we don't have a build-up of dander or saliva-ridden hair (YAY! No lint rollers required!!!) all over the house!

They are no colder than we would be, running around naked. No, I DON'T run arround naked! Shocked . But I am always chilly as well, so we keep lots of soft, fluffy blankies all over the house, for me and the kitties! Our little bald babies are sooooo spoiled! The lap-sized down comforter that I made for myself (because Hubby likes the bedroom cooler than is comfortable for me to sleep in) has been confiscated by my Boy Cat, Panther. It lays on the foot of my side of the bed year round. It keeps him warm enough that even in mid-winter (even below 0 the window is slightly cracked open) he sleeps in our bedroom under it.

GG that's good to know. I haven't known many people with hairless cats but the one's I've known do seem to structure their lives around their cats. They've told me things like "They have to have their own room that's kept at 80 degrees or they get sick," and stuff like that. They've made it sound like hairless cats are difficult to keep so I never considered one. Maybe it wasn't as much of a necessity as they made it sound.

Me too! Love the wrinkles - and listening to them box each other when they play. Nothin' like the SMACK! of skin on skin when our girly girl Jewels whaps the boy on top of the head. You just don't get the same sound effects when the fur muffles it!
