Spring 2012!

After having such a tough time last year, this year I have 3 SFG boxes! Well, and one non-sfg...that one just has flower seeds. I planted my tomatoes on 3/14 and sowed all my other seeds on 3/21. Now the hard part (and everyone thinks the mixing is the hardest), keeping bugs from chomping on my plants lol. Let me see if I can try to upload pics without them being HUGE!



My tomatoes and leaf lettuce:


Pickler Hybrids and Bush Snap Beans:


Squash and Cucumber (Slicing):


I do have a question in all of this. I still need to put trellises up for my cukes. Now because I planted them in 8 squares all next to each other, should I put the trellis up with 4 squares on each side of it or will it be okay on the end of the box? I know, I'm still stuck in that old "row mentality" but that's where my brain wants to be right now lol.

Hi Tracy....

Others might disagree because I'm definitely not that experienced. Last year I did have cukes, peas, and pole beans on the type of trellis in the book. Honestly, as large as cucumbers get, you could probably go either way...no matter where you put it, you'll just train the plants to it when they get high enough... Smile
