March planting in CT

Post  philct on 4/5/2012, 8:08 pm

I learned a valuable lession this year, my first in gardening.. March 25 is too early to plant broccoli... While my lettuce looks rather healthy, my broccoli plants are droopy and look pale. Water seems to help a but, but they just don't seem to be thriving... Also only 5 of my 36 pea seeds have sprouted, and only 2 of my 36 onion sets... 40 bucks down the drain Mad

Don't give up hope yet put a plastic dome over your boxes and keep them warm.
Last year I planted too early and a 5gal bucket of hot tucked in side the dome
every night and morning got me through it. When it go too colt for the water trick
I put a small heater on its lowest setting in there.
