cayanne pepper to ward off the pets

Post  wishfulgardener on 4/7/2012, 11:18 am

Can you use cayanne pepper directly on the SFG and plants. These cats are cruising right through the garden and stepped on my little sprouting lettuces and radishes!
Thanks for the help!

We have done that, use cayanne pepper to keep the cats out, they doin't like the smell of it and they don't like to get it on their paws, but I was having trouble this year keeping the cat out of the potatoes even though I used the pepper, so I took plastic forks and stuck them in the SFG with the fork end sticking up. The cat hasn't been in there since.

I am assuming that pic is of your garden - it is beautiful! The stones between the boxes are lovely - do you have any hints on keeping cracks weed-free?
