D Player, Zomo and Elysia

Nice to have all three of you join us today.

Hope each of you have had a chance to read ALL NEW SQUARE FOOT GARDENING by Mel Bartholomew, published in 2006. This forum is great support for his book and that method. A really good place to start here on the forum is on the home page. If you would hover your cursor over the little knobs on the left, there is a menu of several subjects that are good reading, especially for newcomers.

We look forward to hearing from each of you as your gardens progress. Please feel free to ask questions.

Welcome ....It all depends on how broad you want your horizons Laughing

May I offer this advice ? ( your getting it any way Wink ). The site is running along the principles of a book and method originated by a guy called Mel Bartholomew ,his book 2006 edition ( the one we play by ) is called " All New Square Foot Gardening ". We often refer to this style of gardening as ANSFG

It turns a few established ideas up on their heads . So to combat this ,on the home page at the top right is a wee paragraph for experienced gardeners . check it out then click on the link in the last line and enjoy the read.

Perhaps if you don't have the book it would be found beneficial for you to get hold of a copy just so that we end up all singing the same song and same tune .

The ANSFG is quite different to most systems in that it does not use mother earth ammended soil but a soilless growth medium of whichb following the initial formula is critical and very important.

If you go to the home page and look at the threads , look in the compost thread and start collecting your base materials for you're going to need them to succeed & continue succeeding in the ANSFG way .

Lastly , please do take lots of pictures of your progress and give us your thoughts & details of your progress as it helps new arrivals in your area see how you have done it .
