What it looks like after cutting and baling the hay. Doubt there will be another cutting this year.

Gee Rooster that is scary, do you have enough water to keep your garden watered?
Sure wish I could give you some of ours, we have had about enough.

Keep safe

I would say that we aren't technically in a drought, but suffering drought like conditions. So far I can water just fine. I don't know of any watering restrictions here locally. Luckily we had great snow pack last year and that's what's helping this year...so far. But if this continues, who's to say? For now, it's way to hot and way to dry for only being June Evil or Very Mad

And you said you cannot harvest the water from your roof? Is that correct?

You are allowed to divert ( Very Happy ) but not collect. However there's no water to divert coming off the roof Evil or Very Mad

Re: Drought

No, our water comes from a local water district. I'm not concerned about being able to water the garden or even the yard for that matter (yet lol) I'm more concerned about all the fires and fire conditions here and carelessness more than anything. One of my sons chased a coyote off today...during the day and I've killed two skunks. All these animals are coming in looking for food and water cause there is none around Evil or Very Mad

Rooster, sorry to hear about your water lack. I'm sure there are other things you'd prefer to share with Texas! Hope you have an adequate fire brake around your farm. Nonna

I hope the June rains come to you.

I hate seeing the sky all smokey like that and June is just months too early for that!

I suppose this means hay prices will be up.

They've actually just lifted all of our fire bans (unfortunately) after the recent moisture. As far as I know, all of our fires are now 100% contained. The one closest to me is not experiencing flood problems...which is typically the case.

Thunderstorm heading our way! Fingers crossed! We are in a moderate drought here. To many times the storms have dissipated or split and went around us this summer! Last weekend the forecast said it was raining, yea two miles away at the airport! None in town!
