Finally Composting: was mugwort a bad idea?

Post  gingeandhales on 4/19/2012, 8:54 pm

I made myself a trash can composter yesterday. I've been filling it with my kitchen scrapes and some of the dried leaves I raked out of the garden (not my sfg but the in ground community garden that has been pretty neglected and is looking bad. I decided to try to clean it up a bit by putting in a new SFG in one corner of it last weekend. So the leaves and weeds (mostly mugwort) has been sitting out in the sun for the past few days, and was dried out by the time I added it to the composter, but now I'm worrying that I shouldn't have put the mugwort in there.

That is the most invasive weed we have in these parts and I already saw some in my SFGs back in March. Do you think that if this is composted down (and it is dried already I didn't add any fresh green weeds to the bin) that it could still find its way into my beds?
