PLEASE HELP IDENTIFY THIS GRUB/LARVAE!!! :/

Post  albutler123 on 4/19/2012, 9:56 pm

Hi, I have a bug/grub/larvae problem currently. I live third floor/top
floor up in a block of units, I have a large balcony and have only
recently moved in about 3 weeks ago. but the last week these
grubs/larvae have been crawling across the tiles on my balcony and I
have found a few inside my apartment. Evil or Very Mad They look like maggots but must
develop spikes on their back. I recently found a common Army grub (green
with stripes, non-hairy), it was on a new plant that i bought about a
day or two before hand. I'm not sure if these larvae/grubs are products
of this grub as i threw it over the balcony. Twisted Evil I will attach pictures to
this but I was hoping you could tell me what they are and where
the dwell, I have thoroughly searched the balcony, moving plants,
looking under pots, in crack etc, surface sprayed, boiling water,
vinegar etc and cant seem to find a colony or specified place they were
coming from. I moved a bag of soil and noticed a few cocoons/ larvae
stuck onto the bag so chucked that out. BUT THEY ARE STILL COMINGGGG!!!

Oh dear, I know how you feel, but listen, they will not hurt you, they are just kind of disgusting. You have a few in a jar, can you take them to university or someplace else for ID. They might be flies, or beetles. Maybe the landlord knows. If you find out please let us know. Good luck!

Thankyou, I have e-mailed a few garden places so hopefully they know. If not, I will ring a university and see if they can help. Will keep the topic posted.
I have just always had a fear of worms/grubs/maggots crawling into my nose/ ear and slept with a blanket over my head for months as a child haha.

Looks like fly bots to me...Make sure you don't have a dead mouse or bird somewhere out there.
