Here's what I've got going on

Post  TechnoHippie4351 on 4/20/2012, 3:13 pm

Here's my first bed filled and planted

First Little Carrot

I'm in love with this pretty thing! My first little squash popping up. What are these little weeds next to it? They keep popping up, my 6 year old loves picking them out.

2nd bed planted this morning. tomatoes, beans, corn, squash, zuchinni, cantaloupe, watermelon, more carrots, okra.... lol Will it all fit? I'm hoping the cantaloupe and watermelons can just spill over and crawl around on the ground. Is that oK? I gave the crookneck and zuchinni 2 squares each on the edge. Hope that will be ok. And I accidently planted corn and kentucky wonder pole beans in the same square... rather than dig them up I just shrugged and thought oh well, maybe the beans will crawl up the corn stalk, lol. Who knows.

Pretty Nana Pepper

A couple of my tomatoes got singed by the light freeze we had, even though I covered them. But they look to be bouncing back just fine.

Thanks for looking!

Hippie...very nice!

Yes, those are weeds. I put on a nitrile glove (stronger than latex) and pick them out (keeps my nails clean). I reuse it until it tears (usuallya week).

Your babe's thin fingers are perfect for the job!

You should read the thread on 3 sisters. It's corn & pole beans together, plus squash to cover the ground. They'll be fine...you made no mistake! I planted the same combination...on purpose!

It looks like to me that those are carrots, not weeds. I could be wrong, but this is what is growing where I planted my carrots. Good luck! Garden looks great...
