Hello from Southwest Virginia

Post  budlor on 4/23/2012, 3:17 pm

This will be my 1st try at SFG. I had a stroke that paralyzed my right side (I have gotten back some use). I think this will be just what I need. I will be able to sit down and work on my garden. I've always gardened the old way in rows, but can't do that anymore because of my restrictions so I looked into SFG and I think I have found my answer to my gardening. I have 3 4x4 ready to go. Wish me luck. Thank you. Very Happy

Hey, fellow Virginian! I'm in South Chesterfield where I'm thinking of gathering animals two by two!! Did you get snow or did it miss you?

This is my first year of SFG and I'm loving it. I retired in Feb. so decided to take up gardening as I've always wanted to but knew it required time.

I'm finally settling in to a routine of sorts----put on the coffee, do my blood sugar, take my meds, get my coffee and then head to the yards (front and back) to check on the progress of my gardens and to tell all of the new little plants welcome.

You'll love this form of gardening!!!!! Just follow the suggestions given on this forum and you'll be eating from your garden in no time!

Hi Judy: Thank you for the encouraging words. I live in Christiansburg. We did get snow flurries all morning but no accumulation. I'm really excited about SFG. I remember reading about it years ago in Mother Earth News and that's how I decided to try it.
