Eeeeek! :(

Post  NoobieGardener on 5/1/2012, 8:18 am

I'm unsure whats causing this.

I'm not sure if I'm missing what kind of pest I should be looking for or what. I've found two different ones so far. One seems to be a red fly, almost looks like a mini house fly. I've seen quite a few of them and have been running them off all morning.

Whatever it is, its gotten a hold of my beans, peppers and basil. Sad

Help! Shocked

Just wanted to add that I've gone out with the flashlights a few nights in a row to look for the pests. No luck.

Please, be forewarned, vinegar may harm your plants.

Your plant looks a lot like mine. I was never able to find anyone munching on them, but there were tons of caterpillars on our property. I picked up some Bt and sprayed everything down once about two weeks ago. I saw no more damage to the plants until just recently. I assume the original application killed off the first generation and that spraying again will kill this newest group.

I picked up the Bt at Lowe's for $10. Hope that helps! Best of luck.

Thanks, Camprn. I know what they are just didn't know they were referred to as Bt.
