I noticed blacking on the stem joints of my peppers, but only the top stems of the plant, none near the roots or the mid-section of the plant. The plant is also on the verge of throwing blossoms but they are just sort of stuck there, like they are waiting for something. It looks like BB size peppers starting, but they dont seem to be growing. I have them planted in MM.Plants look otherwise healthy. The plants are continueing to grow and look really green. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

I'm growing some bell peppers this year. I too found that the flower buds just sat there for the loooongest time. They bent down and looked like they were forming into little bell peppers, just like you said. I couldn't figure it out because they hadn't ever bloomed. I thought maybe transplant shock since I transplanted them into my garden after the buds first showed up. But just yesterday one bud on each plant popped open into a white flower! I checked my notes and it was just over 3 weeks from when I first spotted the buds. So if your plants are otherwise growing and look healthy, just hang in there.
Oh, I will check my plants tomorrow for blacking. I can't remember noticing that. Could just be a characteristic of the plant? Lots of pepper lovers on this forum, I'm sure others will chime in with their two cents.

Just like this picture shows BUT why does some of my Jalapeno's have dark area's on the peppers? I have found some other articles with similar pictures but not quite so I have considered them to be infected by something and have pulled most of them and just tossed since there were perfectly better looking ones on the same plant, Now I have noticed some of them coming back this way with the black again and I also found one that had a hole in the black-side the size of my pinkie and tossed it. Should I have cut it open to see if there was a worm of some sort inside?@camprn wrote:Pepper plant joints are typically darker. Normal.
