Arty! I am a NorCal transplant living in SD! Do you have the ANSFG book yet? It will make your gardening life SOOOOO much easier! What do you have planned to plant? I do miss having the longer growing season of CA, but love having a real winter here - never got a snow day off from work in Santa Rosa!

Welcome. Tell us more about what your gardening layout and plans are. I also highly recommend the ALL NEW SQUAREFOOT GARDENING book. It is the how to manual for folks on this forum.
