I struggle with this one. Cabbage moths not so much.

Personally I am going to be glad to see the end of June, as all these bugs are giving me the creeps..... I really am trying to like them.... Smile

removed the beautiful picture of a butterfly, so the post wouldn't be so big sunny

I just pulled off another six of them this morning from the fennel in a SFG across the yard. So far haven't seen them on anything else I'm growing...
we move them to the offshoots coming up from our choke cherry tree. Not convinced they enjoy that as much!!

I've never seen them in my garden before - maybe they were imported on my fennel plants.

I found this guy near Mt. Arenal in Costa Rica. Scared the bejeezus out of me, so glad we don't have to worry about these guys.

That looks like some type of wood boring beetle. What is it?

They are hungry and only on the foliage a week or so. Then they pupate and the fennel or dill will grow new foliage. Very Happy the best of both worlds.

I'd like others to see some pictures of our under crop sfg beds , so new people can see that they do really work .

Shots perhaps taken at a reasonable height from an end or a caddy corner shot ... ( See ... I can pick up these weird expressions Laughing ) . ( Diagonal shots ... for the rest of the english speaking world Wink ).

This way not only will people be able to see the goods in action they might also become inspired as to the type of bed they construct .

Gotcha .... it is ambigious .

to clarify .....Read it as .......... SFG beds under crops .

I.E. crops up and growing in the beds.

Is she lost?

Post  Felicity on 6/30/2012, 6:34 am

This spring I took a photo of an interesting insect on my strawberries. Unfortunately I did not kill it. Got out my books to ID. With all the damage done to my squash through the years I had never seen a squash vine borer moth until he/she landed on my strawberries.
