Re: Vermiculite In Portland !!!
This is my first year doing any sort of real gardening, and I stumbled upon the square foot gardening method while doing research, and I'm sold! I just thought I'd let you guys know that the Aloha Feed and Seed store off TV Highway has coarse vermiculite in 4 cubic foot bags for $25. They also have chicken, steer, and horse manures for sale, along with a ton of other great garden supplies (we found wheat seeds for our cat grass lawn for 50 cents a pound which is cheaper than what we'd found before).
Anyway, if you're interested, this is their address, it's at least closer than Wilsonville for most people:
18840 SW Alexander St
Beaverton, OR 97006
Pleasantly,
Ronald Bynoe

Thanks
Vermiculite has been a bit hard to find this year. We were able to get some earlier in the season, but our usual sources have dried up. Thanks for the tip.

Re: Vermiculite In Portland !!!
Thanks to Ronald's suggestion, I was able to pick up a bag over the weekend. It was a 3.5cu ft bag, for $23.99. Not quite 4 cu ft, but way better than the $29.99 for 2cu ft (fine grade) that I had found at 7 Dee's. While not as "pretty" as 7 Dees, Aloha Feed and Seed is a REAL gardeners store. I wish I knew about it sooner.
