At what point do we declair a dud?

Post  Sunsanvil on 6/16/2012, 7:22 am

First time SFG - one week after planting and we can clearly see "missing" plants. 3 out of 4 lettuce, 7 out of 9 spinach, etc. At what point do we give up and replant the missing ones?

When ever you see signs of trouble, I put in a few more seeds, worst situation is that the original plants survive and thrive, and you have to do some thinnin
You still have lots of time

Start the replacements off indoors in 2 or 3 inch pots and grow on with lots of TLC till sound , then plant out in the gaps when a week or so over " big enough to plant out " & water them in well .

If you cut just a few lettuce leaves every three or four days that one plant should last till the other are up and producing same goes for the spinach .
