Vancouver, WA garderner

Post  sdoerk on 4/10/2010, 11:51 pm

Hi all! I'm in Vancouver, WA across from Portland, OR and have decided to try SFG this year. I didn't do too much until last year and even then started too late in the season to get anything from my initial attempt at gardening except cherry tomato's (which never made it into the house!) I did play around with hydroponics which I will continue with this year (side note: this would be 'LEGAL' hydroponics, thank you very much!) In fact, I am blogging my results on another gardening site as well so should be interesting.

I started with one raised bed, that came with the house (we live in a rental) but decided to jump whole hog into it and will have 3 4x8 beds and 2 2x6 beds with everything from herbs to veggies and some flowers. It is all an experiment to me until we finally get into our final house.

Hello and welcome to the forums sdoerk chery tomatoes have a hard time makeing it from my garden to the house as well theres lots of information to absorb and lots of crafty/thrifty people here and a bunch of discussions going on so just jump right in and start reading and asking questions be sure to stop by your regional forum to meet people in your area and hardiness zone if your not sure what zone you fit into there is a map at the top of the regional zone area to help you decide which region you are in. look forward to hearing about your garden and how things are growing (pun intended)
