How To Post a Picture Located on Your Computer

Post  boffer on 3/5/2010, 8:28 pm

If you have pics on your computer that you would like to share, but
don't have them posted on a website host somewhere, here's how to do it:

When you are on the 'Post a Reply' page...
Select the 'host an image' button
A little window pops up that looks like this:

Select 'Browse' to select an image on your computer.
Select 'Host It'
That will open a window that looks like this:

Click the 'copy' button for the middle line-this highlights the code.
In Windows, use Ctrl+C to copy the code in the middle line.
If you click the 'host an image' button again, the little box will go away.
Paste the code into your post using Ctrl+V.
It will look like this:

Hit send when you're ready to post.

Using this method also puts your pic on an image host site that is integrated with the forum's software.  After you post your pic, you can click on the title bar of the host-it window (servimg.com).  That will take you to your album that was created when you posted.

Images upside down

Post  grandpashorts on 6/21/2013, 2:37 pm

When I post my images to www.servimg.com they are upside down. How do you rotate them or do I have to rotate my original before uploading?

It worked for me..try saving the pics to your desktop and save them as .jpg if you can.  I just tried this for the first time today and it finally worked.

Use a photo hosting site like photobucket. Much easier and many more options. I'm not a fan of the websites image hosting. I can understand some folks opinions on why to use it, but for some (like me) I typically don't even keep photos on my computer, so it's a real hassle.

Frenchbean, I share your frustration with Photobucket. They used to be soo easy to copy images; but ever since they went to their new format, it's completely Rolling Eyes screwed-up!! :pullinghair:I can no longer do a Copy/Paste (& neither can 6 other people I've asked), so I send the Photobucket-folks 2 emails asking for clarifications, but they apparently don't speak English as their response is complete gibberish I give up! and this situation is completely frustrating! ps:
No, it doesn't matter what kind of computer you're using: Mac, PC, all formats used to work, but no more. GrGrrr !!

What does speaking English have to do with it?
I don't have any issues using the new photobucket. Nothing has changed other than the layout.

After you have a picture loaded to photobucket, select the code in the IMG box. Highlight and COPY that COMPLETE code and paste it in your reply here at the forum.

What bugs me is that you can't post more than one picture at a time. or, I haven't figured out how to anyway.

That has changed with the new editor upgrade. You don't need to hit preview after pasting the code for each photo. Just click the upload photo button again. I just uploaded these with out a preview.

Using Photobucket

Post  RoOsTeR on 6/23/2013, 5:56 pm

If you can get your pictures uploaded to photobucket, select, highlight and copy the entire image code in the IMG box:
(double click the IMG box till the code in the box is highlighted. Right click and select copy.)

Go to the forum and paste the code in the reply box:
(click to put the cursor where you want the picture. Right click and select paste.)

The image code should look something like this:

That's it. You can do that as many times as you wish and just keep adding the photos. I find it easier to open Photobucket in a separate tab or window so it's easier to switch back and forth.

Help!

Trying to change my avatar and I can't remember how to do it. I know I've done it before from Photobucket but it doesn't seem to matter which code I use or in which box, it either tells me it's the wrong file type or it tells me it has updated but the picture doesn't show up just a graphic from Photobucket saying that the file was deleted or moved!

I can't help with Photobucket, but you could download the picture on Photobucket to your computer, and then upload it to here.

Just a workaround.

What is going on with the HOST AN IMAGE feature.  When I browse and then select a picture on my computer, it puts the URL in the File box.  But then I click on HOST IT and the url goes away.  I finally got a picture posted but it was a nightmare and I don't think I could do it again.

Oh my goodness yolos!  I am going through the exact same thing!  I get red lettered writing that says "no photo selected."

I have been unsuccessful trying firefox, chrome and explorer.  I tried cutting and pasting, and that failed as well.

P.S.:  Thanks for posting wheat pictures.  I assume those were the ones you had a problem with.  I was nice of you to go through all that trouble to help me.

Right click and copy the middle line of code and paste it directly into the text box of the post you are making.
