Brown Spots On Basil

Post  gingeandhales on 6/24/2012, 12:30 pm

All of my basil plants are not doing well. I have three in two separate boxes. One box is new this year, the other box I had since last year, but was recently moved although I used the same mels mix.

This is what the leaves are looking like:

What could it be? Do I need to pull them out?

My plants do that when stressed a bit. Basil is sensitive stuff. The leaves taste fine like that. Make sure they are getting enough water and maybe mulch them and maybe a lil compost tea. Picking those leaves off (and use them in pesto, really it is ok) will stimulate more bushy growth.

Oh thank you. Good to know. They were transplanted from my original box into the new box when I had to move my boxes so maybe they are still recovering from the move.
