Homemade water jug

Post  southern gardener on 7/3/2012, 4:42 pm

I made these out of one gallon water bottles. Leave the water out in the sun for Mel's "sun warmed" water and water! You kind of have to "push" the water out, but the stream is gentle enough to not wash away the MM and seedlings. I like it because I can water plants that need a little squirt. Hope the picture posts!!

Well, sorry I couldn't get the pic to post, so you will have to click the link. Sad It keeps saying filetype not allowed? Anyway, hope someone can use these! We sure like them bounce

When I click the link it wants me to log into AOL. Wish I could see a picture of what you did, but don't want to log in.

If you only put one hole in the cap as fine as you can get using a red hot fine needle you can invert the bottles , fix them up right ( taped 9 tied mine to two canes ) and they become slow release water bottles ..... place directly by a plant .

Mine typically took two to three hours to empty , dependant upon the weather . Had I had a decent finer needle it woild have taken much longer with a micro sized hole .
