We have rain!

Post  Triciasgarden on 7/5/2012, 1:29 pm

The rain started about two hours ago and there is barely any wind so it is hanging around! There was only a 30% chance so I am grateful we won on this one! We have only gotten 6-1/2 in. since January and it hadn't rained for 40 days so we were in need! My lawn and garden are getting some nice moisture and one of my new
grandkids (there are four new by marriage) is five years old and she is brave and picked
up snails without hesitation and threw them in the street for me! My other
five year old grandchild is a boy and he wouldn't pick one up but almost did. Its
interesting how each has their own personality.

We had about three fires start in the last day, one for sure from fireworks and the other a guy said he thinks he accidently started the second fire. How honest is that! This rain should help with all of them close by here. There are still four wild fires burning so I am hoping the rain will help with those also!

We are in need of rain here. Glad you're getting some rain for the fires and for the garden.

So glad you are getting rain. Especially the kind that falls straight down. I live in western Kansas. Ours usually comes at ya sideways bounce

JustMe Thank you and I hope you get some rain also for your garden and the fires! I would have thought Wisconsin would get rain more often!

Momof5Js thank you and I bet your rain comes down in strange huge funnel clouds! It rained mostly gently and continuously for hours. It isn't always that way though. It was so
nice. I don't know how Plantoid has handled so much rain and then as I
said before, there are so many places that have severe drought. We have all been praying for the rain here and are so grateful for it! ! I hope that those others who are needing it
will get some and soon!

I have been watering still and I have an area that has not been weeded yet. Part of that area gets a lot of shade and has bedding plants so they have been hiding out! hadn't thought about it before but I may get some bait for them, but I bet the birds like to eat them. Hummm! Something interesting that happened this year, my next door neighbor got her back yard of total weeds dug out and lo and behold even though there is a fence separating us, I hardly had any snails in my garden which is right next to our connecting fence! Goes to show ya how we all can influence our environments!
