PNW: vermiculite prices

Post  boffer on 7/5/2012, 6:09 pm

I stocked up on vermiculite today so I would have it for next spring. It was $7.60 plus tax per cubic foot, for coarse, which is up almost a dollar from what I paid this past March. They couldn't tell me if the price was going to continue rising. I got it from McConkey in Sumner.

We already pay more than most around the country. Sad

That is crazy! A month ago I paid $4.49/cu.ft. or 17.99 for a bag of coarse.

Maybe the price is the same but the value of a dollar keeps falling. Next spring we will all declare you wise for getting it before we exchange the dollar for whatever China allows us to use.

Not to mention that it probably comes from China. Maybe they heard about SFG and want to get a piece of the pie! Razz
