To the contrary, the inability to see the positive responses to one's post fails to provide constructive feedback that encourages similar informative posts.

Ok, I think I have the reputation part figured out. Anyway, the new feature is the thumbs up button you see in the lower left corner below your avatar. I'll be honest, I'm not sure how I feel about this feature yet and it's on a TRIAL basis at this point. It may change in appearance and it may vanish altogether. Some interest was expressed earlier in such a feature and I found a way to make it work (for now) so I thought we could give it a whirl. I am working on the settings that will limit the amount each member can use the feature each day. I think posting proper responses is important and what makes the forum work. I don't want folks skimping on posts and just giving a thumbs up. However, I think most of us do give a +1 or thumbs up from time to time and it is appropriate and perfectly acceptable...just not all the time. So for now it's on a trial basis only If you feel a post has helped you out or it's something that hits home with you, comment on it and give it a thumbs up.

I'm still poking around a bit to see if there's anything else I can change. I can understand not being able to thumb your own post, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sense if you can't see if your posts have been +'d.

Thumbs up

Post  memart1 on 7/8/2012, 9:28 pm

I too would like to see my thumbs. Maybe Rooster can show us our thumbs and still prevent us from giving one to ourselves. Camprn, I give you a thumbs up and a +1. BTW, my daughter got her LPN license Thursday, and that Calagel along with Benadryl helped my poison ivy -- its all cleared up now. Thanks.

I guess we'll just have to PM rooster and ask for snapshot so that we can see for ourselves.

I really like the +1 because it bumps a thread. If I liked it somebody else might need to see it.

For now I'll leave this thread up for review, but I think enough has been said on the matter.
If you would like to thumbs up a post, you have that option for now.
If you would still like to plus one a post and leave a comment, by all means do so. This is simply a new button feature being tested out. Use it or not. The option is yours for the time being.
Thanks for the comments. This thread is now closed.
