Green Beans gone bad?

Post  Garden4God on 7/9/2012, 1:24 pm

I had a green bean that fell off the plant before I could harvest it and it was a white-ish green and the seeds were blue. Is there something wrong whith my plant? Please send me any suggestions or funny comments because I really love to laugh!Laughing I hope to see your comments soon!

How large was the bean? Is it possible that it was getting ready to dry up and the seeds inside were getting ready to be dried beans? Just a thought.

Blue seeds? What a fantastic color. Now you have seeds for next year. Very Happy

I planted "Blue Lake" bush type green beans. The pods are typical green beans pods. Once the seeds start to develop the bean pods start getting lighter, first chartreuse colored then yellow, sometimes with wisps of blue/purple in the pod. The beans form and are first white, theydry and get a little more blue colored. If the pod is allowed to dry out on the plant, it gets brittle yellowish/whitish. The pod flakes away to leave beautiful mid-night blue beans sometimes with tiny little white star flecks.
