Central California is back in the garden

A Mid-San Joaquin Valley (California) square foot gardener is back in the garden. Once the rain is over and done, we're expanding our garden to my old horse pasture. If I can't have horses, I can have a garden!
Happy to see the improvements on this site. Did anyone else have trouble re-registering with your previous user name? Well, that's behind me now, new user name, new email address, and we're good to go.
I look forward to tapping into the knowledge and experience of the seasoned gardeners who post on this site. This is only my second year at gardening since I was very young. I wished I'd paid more attention back then, but there's no time like the present to learn something new.
So here's to a summer of fresh picked tomatoes warm from the sun, too many squash for one family to use, more corn than we can eat, and a curious orange-fleshed watermelon to try for the first time. And if I hurry, maybe I'll get in another crop of Sugar Snap Peas. I love them just-picked. They seldom make it into the house before they're all gone.

Welcome to the forum, Jollo. A lot of us have the same problem with disappearing snap peas-no matter how many we plant!
