Howdy from the Newbie

This could get long {rant rant rant} I moved back to Molalla in 2000 to be near my kids and my only means of income at that time was opening my own Computer Shop. I converted the front room in an old house on the main hwy and survived for 10+yrs City born moved to the country, forced to retire early with a loss of pension. Not physically able to work a garden like I would/should like to but still going to keep trying the best I can study Been trying to do a bucket style garden but some plants just don't like to be confined. Area [front yard] Son an I made some stair case steps 2 buckets wide on 2 sides attached to the front porch with a walk way in between so I can reach across from the center to each bucket. Why buckets: My first thought was how I lost plants in some cold blasts in the past and buckets make it easier thinking to move while holding onto a cain :lolsignwave:
Tools and working area: I started in 2009 investing in a Electric Tiller [most hp I could get for the buck] This was MY SECRET GARDEN funny post Yes I loved the movie all 3 or 4 of them, but secret not really with a major hwy running by rofl This was the best spot for watching grand kids playing on both sides of the house while the parents an I chatted
Distance pic of layout with a pile of clean dirt below the ramp (dang affraid dirt costs a lot)
General layout of where trees and trelllis will go.
Next I used my (RIP) wagon to remove the stump
Tiller Time:
I planted Boxwoods to hide Trash & Recycle carts so I could keep them in the front by porch saving me a rough haul from the back.
I will show you what this all lead up to 3yrs later. sawing logs

We love pictures, so you're off on the right foot already! I'll stay tuned to see what things look like three years later...

Oh, and living in Oregon puts you in the PNW region - so be sure to poke in with updates on your growing from time to time. (From the home page, just scroll down until you see the Regional Forums.)

Plenty of good info to be found using the search feature - plenty of helpful folk if you have questions. Hope to see you around.

thanks Thanks Gwennifer for the HELLO and directions on the Region groups I will continue my "Three Years Later Project" in the PNW region forums section.
There is so much to study read and share I'm not sure how long it will take me but I do so want to learn from everyone smiles <<< this is where I get a great deal of my idea's I might be able to plug into my future gardening plans. okay
