Is it ok to use plastic for canning rack?

Post  A.H.Vincent on 7/30/2012, 8:53 am

Is it ok to use any kind of plastic bascket for a cooking rack?

What plastic is fine and what isn't?

Does any water get into the jar when canning or is it impossible if the seal is fine?

The one I've seen on the market is actually silicone which is supposed to be safe.
