Hi! I'm new to gardening. I planted a row garden this spring and it's going pretty well, considering I started late. I'm really interested in starting a SFG next year. I've been reading Mel's book and can't wait for next year to build my boxes. I hope to get some good boots-on-the-ground info here and contribute my own next year after I have some experience.

Welcome to the forum. You will be so glad to make the switch. Now is a good time to start your planning, get a compost pile started and start collecting the components of your boxes and Mel's Mix. That way you can do it a little at a time. Be sure to post any questions you have as you have the time to learn from our mistakes.

I second Kay, that you will be glad to make the switch! I would suggest to start your own compost pile asap to save you a hunt for composts next year, It would also save you lots of money! And build your boxes over the winter so you can start planting right away in the spring time! Have fun and welcome to the forum!
