Seeds are sprouting

Post  Kabaju42 on 4/13/2010, 10:02 pm

I've been obsessively checking my garden when I got home from work, and today I finally found what I've been looking for: I've got seed sprouting!

These are romaine seeds I planted 17 days ago, and I thought I'd have to plant more seeds because I thought all the late snow, including a little last night, killed them, and they're only supposed to take 5-10 days to sprout. The peas and broccoli haven't sprouted yet, but at least there's still hope!

Any one else in the area have any such luck? If not there's still hope for all of us

My peas that I planted last Saturday (April 10th) just started to poke up through today. My kids were excited to actually see something come up. What great weather this weekend to spend a little time in the yard. One of my peach trees also blossomed this weekend...

My peas are starting to sprout, and so is my Swiss chard! The onion sets I put in are popping up with lots of green tops, too! (no carrots yet, though)

Transplanted garden-center Brussels sprouts are doing well, and so are the spinach and lettuce seedlings that I started from seed.

I think it's spring!
