My Purchases From the Fair - Questions

Just got back from the Truro Agricultural Fair and bought these:

I'm looking at those veggies as if they were organic seed packets!


1) To save pumpkin seeds, do I have to make the stinky water like I did with the patty pan? Man, that stuff reeked so bad I didn't even want to put it thru my sieve when it was time!

2) How do I know if those fava beans are viable? Are brown ones OK? They were handed out to use to vote for animals. We used Mom's to vote and kept mine.

3) Do I just leave the pepper seeds out on newspaper to dry?

I have saved winter squash seeds just by washing them off well and leaving them out to dry on paper towels. Worked well for me..Smile

Firstly, you must open the pie pumpkin and remove the seeds, them remove the strings, wash the seeds and then allow to air dry, out of the sunlight, on some newspaper. Secondly, you must make pumpkin pie or a baked stuffed pumpkin. YUM!
store the seeds in a paper lunch bag.

Peppers, just open it up and allow the seed to air dry.

...of course not knowing the growing conditions of either of these, you may get exactly the same thing next year, or not. Very Happy
