Hi Everyone - LTNS

Post  sfg4uKim on 9/2/2012, 7:18 pm

I've been peeking in on y'all every week or so, but I've just been SOOOOO slammed.

As many of you know SEVERAL of my family members have been sick for awhile. Father-in-law is now using a walker more than a wheel chair after surgery that went bad and a subsequent stroke.

My sister-in-law had a stroke over a year ago and is still paralyzed on her left side but having pain on that side. She's has more small strokes and a couple bouts of internal bleeding. My poor brother's life is now bed pans & medications.

While taking care of "dad" my mother-in-law ignored her "asthma". When she finally went to the doctor she was told it was her heart and she's eligible to be placed on the transplant list! She's doing better now on medicine & no longer is in critical danger.

My niece has been hospitalized three times since she had her baby less than a year ago.

My brother-in-law has a defibrillator and is now suffering a series of strokes. He's FINALLY agreed to go into assisted living. Hubby & I will head to Dallas to clear out his apartment later this month.

My mom is doing GREAT since her hip replacement and is physically fit for 90 years old. Cognitively she's slipping quite a bit and can't even complete a sentence. We enjoy listening to her music and dancing (I have to be the boy LOL). I'm enjoying every moment I can with her.

Last month I was in the hospital with a horrible MRSA infection and couldn't walk until they drained it. I'm on the mend now, but I still get tired.

Last week my friend's husband died suddenly. He is a Baltimore City police officer who was involved in an auto accident when he was responding to a call. This was back in February! He was finally doing well enough that they could do some of the neurological surgeries. He was doing great (walking & talking) then either had a heart attack or blood clot. I've been busy helping with things.

My garden has been SOOOOO neglected that I just didn't see much reason to frequent a gardening forum. Smile

Anyway, I miss y'all and hope to catch up when life slows down a bit. LOL

Kim

Kim,

What a horrific streak of health-related issues! On the bright side, things can only get better.

I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Kim, no wonder you cannot do any SFGing. Hopefully you will be doing a little bit next year once you have got through this.
You will be in our thoughts and prayers. Come back when you are ready, and I am glad you are still reading our forum.
Peace and love to you and all your family. I love you
