What's on my pumpkin plants?

Why is it on my pumpkins and how do I deal/get rid of it if it is really bad? Sad Is it Thrips? Help?

I have those, too. Can't remember what they are on but I thought they were just poop from something.

I love gardening without my eyeglasses. Shocked Everything looks fine.

Looking forward to the answer and heading to google 'thrips'.

Thrips are supposedly harmless little bugs..... I keep thinking they're poop from something too but the only "bugs" I see in abundance is ants and I've never seen ants poop on plants before. lol
