I'm Back!!!

Busy, busy summer, but things are finally starting to slow down! I neglected my garden this year, and only a few things survived. The good news is, I've put in my winter garden!
I now have baby peas, carrots, beets, lettuce, kale, and spinach.
I also still have Basil, a few tomato plants, pumpkin, chives, sage, mint, and a huge banana melon plant from the summer. I also just planted some squash and cucumbers in hopes of getting something before it gets to cold. Also, got to take down the shade cloth last week!!
I tried to upload pictures, but it didn't let me.

I am also going to be having a little garden tour next week, Friday Sept 28th. I am in Glendale Arizona. PM me if interested in coming!

Well, Duhh, I'm sorry to admit I didn't miss you but only because, I, too, was missing in action on this board most of the last half of the season.
Like you, I'm finally back, but I've only got Siberian kale, a few cabbage and Swiss chard going strong with carrots and parsnips in the ground, and a few peppers still trying to ripen. I plan to put in my fall garlic around Oct 10th. Hopefully next year I'll get thru the whole season but my plans are for fewer crops and just our very favorites.
I'm glad you are doing so well with your fall garden. I was too late to get things in this year, darn it! I envy you.
I managed to transplant a few chives into a pot and yesterday I filled a shallow pot with potting soil and sowed two kinds of lettuce seeds. That pot is under the light indoors so maybe I'll get some young lettuce leaves thru the winter to enjoy.
I wish you well with your fall garden. Enjoy.

Thanks for the welcomes! Glad you are back too QB!! The forum wouldn't be the same without you. I love seeing your beautiful garden!

Found out today that my banana melon is actually an Armenian cucumber... I feel a little dumb. I kept think that is where I had planted the banana melon. The fruit kept growing and growing, but not turning yellow. I was looking at it today, and thought it looked like an Armenian .... sure enough picked it off and cut it up! Even though it was huge, it was still yummy! Then I went out and picked 6 more of them! People at work are gonna love me tomorrow!
