protecting budding green peppers

I'm new here. I am Dolores. I have been gardening for4 years. I have some green pepper plants in my garden. One has just put out a bunch of new peppers. I live in Chicago near the lake so it hasn't frozen here yet. Is there anything I can do in case we get a frost to keep them going?

Hi there, at this point of the year, if you want peppers, I would suggest digging the plant out of the garden, pot it up and bring it into the house. I just did this with one of my Serrano pepper plants.
