Desert Bear entering the NET

Hello square foot gardeners,
I am Tim a dedicated servant to the people of the United States of America. I love to work in and on my square foot garden. I have a family of three with two additional members of the four legged variety. I live in columbus, Georgia and have learned that I hate squash bugs. Happy gardening to you all. glad you\'re here

Hello Tim, welcome to the forum. I am just north of you in Brooks, Ga. About 25 miles south of the Atlanta Airport.

Are you growing anything this fall. I am trying a fall garden this year. I have broccoli, cauliflower, chard, cabbage, kale, brussel sprouts, and lettuce growing now.

I also built a temporary hoop house and moved some tomatoes, cucumbers, summer squash, and blackeyed peas into the hoop house. I planted them late in the season in large pots so I could move them into the hoop house when it got cold.

I had squash vine borers this summer on my squash. I do not know if I had any squash bugs but they did not bother my squash if I did have any.

Desert Bear glad you\'re here to the forum. I also am in Columbus this is/was my first year SGFing. I had more bugs that I knew what to do with;squash vine borers, pickle worms; threesidedleafhoppers; and some I never figured out the name for.
MM is fairly easy to find the ingredients for : Peat moss, vermiculite & worm castings- Tomar on Macon Rd(also a large selection of organic pest controls); Mushroom compost,Black Kow &Black Hen manure products-Lowes on Veterans; cotton bur & chicken composts -Ace Hardware on St Mary's rd( on right just east of I-185). Tomar has a North location also that may have the ingredients the Macon Rd store is out of.
