The Garden at Ft Tracy-2013

Please give me any feedback you have. The soil in the traditional rows will be amended with camel poo compost this week. The planting will not commence til mid-March in ground. I just wanted to have enough of the important stuff to can this year. Last year, we had plenty of jalapenoes and bell peppers and sunflowers but everything else was pretty much a waste. The drought did the important stuff in. The tomatoes grew very thickly but we lost most of those to blossom end rot because of water shortages. The potatoes did OK but we didn't plant enough to keep through winter. The sweet potatoes and corn were epic fails. The original 2 circles of strawberries will be producing this year and we're adding two more circles of those. What do ya'll think?

Can you do deep mulching between your rows? like 6" or more of straw? That should help with the water and blossom end rot. Also make sure the tomatoes have plenty of bonemeal in their mix, for the blossom end rot. Do you have a way to drip irrigate/soaker hoses and an automatic timer? I would group into wide rows (2-3' wide), or blocks, the greens and beets, I find them easier to care for that way.

I am glad to see you do an update, I was wondering how your garden turned out.

i could translate the garden in to square foot if you would like.
but you would need to include some more info.
