My basil has black flies

Post  Bobalu on 1/19/2013, 11:07 am

Until spring arrives, I've been growing my basil indoors. The basil seems to be doing fine, but I have an infestation of tiny black fly like bugs, which I can't seem to get rid of. Any ideas of what they are, how to kill them, and where they might be coming from?

They sound to me a little more like gnats.
