Cincinnati - Compost Sources

Post  Jeff_Rich on 2/21/2013, 1:11 pm

I'm setting up my new beds as we speak and am sourcing compost. I don't have the time or the organic waste stream to make my own this year. I've seen quite a bit of discussion about "zoo poo" obviously a good option. My question for the locals, has anyone used compost purchased from compostcincy.com ? This is a commercial compost company that appears to use multiple sources of organic material - creating I hope that balanced mix. I did talk with them and they seemed knowledgable about the whole "five bag mix / sole source" discussion. It is fine screened at a cost of $30 a cubic yard. I'd appreciate any thoughts or observations.

I'm close to Columbus so I'm sorry I really can't help you out. There has been a lot of Cincy area folks on this forum in the past. Don't know where they went but hopefully they'll turn up soon and help you out.
