Johnny's 512 mix question

Post  llama momma on 2/27/2013, 4:05 pm

Made soil blocks with Johnny's 512 mix for the first time today and have some left over. Can it be dried and used over again?

Sure. Let it dry out. I even have some leftover from last year that I just used for some starts.

During the starting season, I pour mine in a litter pan to make my blocks and just leave any leftovers there for the next week when I will be starting different seeds. It'll dry out so I just need to re-wet it. No harm.
At the end of the season, I put any leftover back in the bag, clip it closed and put it in a box in the basement to save for another year.

Hey Bea...

You put a link/video up last year about making blocks but even though I bookmarked it the video will not run. Could you repost it or is it something I am doing wrond on my end?

On the 512 mix if my seeds don't germinate in the little 3/4" blocks I let them dry out and back in the bag too.....
