Trying to start SFG in the Spokane area: vermiculite?!

Post  newbie11 on 3/13/2013, 2:09 pm

Hey all!

I am trying to find some reasonalbly priced vermiculite. I see that people have purchased it for as low as $14 a big bag...The best price I have found is $36!

Also, can you use medium grade instead of coarse; does it have a derogatory effect on the garden?

And I keep seeing mentions of "only use horticultural grade" beacause of toxic chemicals, however I know the book just says coarse...

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Have you tried any of these places? I have no idea if they are cheaper than what you have found or if they even have vermiculite. Worth a shot.
