How high for the grow light???

Post  jjc on 4/3/2013, 9:27 pm

I am using a grow light I picked up from Walmart for my tomatoes and peppers. My question is how high above the plants should I keep the light now that they are up? They appear spindly but it might just be because they are so young and small at this point. Also my light has a plastic cover over it which I am using but should it be taken off? The light seemed to hot for the plants to be touching it when I checked.

The lamp bulbs should just be an inch or two above the tops of the seedlings.
If you think it's getting too warm, certainly take the plastic off.

There are many previous threads about growing under lights. You may find them using the search feature at the left.
