Post  Mr. Green Jeans on Thu Apr 04, 2013 8:39 am

Has anyone ordered or used this yet? I'm curious if they list the 5 different composts that I assume they must of used to be allowed to call this "Square Foot Gardening Soil".....

Someone the other day posted a photo of the back of the bag, I believe it was the same product(?).
You might find the post and photo using the search box.

Gro Well is the contracted company (by the foundation) that produces/makes the bagged Mel's Mix for Home Depot.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I wondered what the composts used are so that I might compare it to what I currently use.

The bag does list the compost types: forest wood byproducts compost, selected green-cycled compost, animal manure compost, chicken compost, and mushroom compost blended with bat guano and worm castings

I contacted the Foundation last week about this very question and I have not heard from them yet. However, dvelten... thanks for posting the contents from the bag. I don't think I personally could put together anything better than all those compost goodies!

Yeah, it certainly LOOKS good, but a lot of the negative feedback I've read in other threads has me concerned. Have more than one manufacturer made this is the past?
