Anthracnose, Fire Blight or plain old scorch?

Post  No_Such_Reality on 4/8/2013, 1:11 pm

okay, not much of an SFG disease question, but in addition to doing my SFG beds, I have fruit trees around the yard. I have 4 in 1 apple tree (Golden Dorset, Anna, Fuji, and Gordan) all grafted to a semi-dwarf root stock.

I'm not sure if this is fire blight, anthracnose or scorch. I don't see the black goo associated with fire blight, but the rest looks pretty bad. Mostly hit new growth with the flower bloom. In the photo, you can see the leaves struggling and below you can see the newer growth that was completely shriveled and brown.

Any help from SFGers knowing apples appreciated.

Take this with a grain of salt, since I've never grown apples.

If I were to pick one of the 3, I'd choose scorch. However, looking at the leaf curl, are you watering the tree enough?
