New to SFG and gardening in general!

Post  MargoHunt on 4/15/2013, 11:26 pm

Hi everyone~
I am so excited to have found this forum. I look forward to reading old posts and learning from you all.

A bit about me.... I live in Austin TX (zone 8a/b) and have learned everything I know from one of Mel's books.... which is to say, I know about the concept of SFG and how to build pretty boxes and fill them with great Mel's mix, but I know virtually nothing about the plants. I am resolved to turning my black thumb green.

Organic food and healthy living are my passion (and my business), so it was a natural leap to start our own garden. We have 3 boys (ages 6, 4, and 1.5 years) who are very enthusiastic about it all and they're eating the few things that have come up already.

Thanks for reading.
~Margo

glad you\'re here Margo. happy hi
Your sure have a reason to grow your own veggies, your three little boys, 6, 4 and 1 1/2 years old.
I am interested in hearing about your business as well as your progress in SFGing.

welcome , MargoHunt
You have the right idea: you have the book, you read the forums, and know to ask questions when you need to SOS You'll do well.

Hey Margo, welcome to the SFG Forum. For a good list of other general gardening books, you can find a link to a good thread about that at the bottom of my signature.

I'm brand new to gardening, a total black thumb, and using Mel's process my veggies are actually growing! Woohoo!
